Day 26
Today, I spent the entire morning in Riverside. My cousin heard just the night before that she had gotten into the research project that she had applied for and so she had to go to Riverside to turn in her research contract and find an apartment. The first part wasn’t difficult at all (well despite the whole waking-up-at-8AM thing); the second, however, proved a particular challenge. We must’ve gone through 4 different apartments until we finally found a reasonable one, UV Towers. For $600/month, my cousin found a place that had a pool, tanning dome, movie theatre, water massage table, unlimited utilities, and was fully furnished. Coming from USC where $600/month would barely get me a crappy apartment, I am totally jealous. Regardless though, my job was done! All before lunchtime too! Talk about efficiency. For lunch, we had Viet food that I personally found so satisfying, seeing as I have been craving it for a looooooong time…. After lunch, we got some groceries and then made Pineapple Upside-Down Cake! With all that brown sugar on top, I was so tempted to eat it out of the oven…. but I restrained myself since we were going to Souplantation for dinner with my dad and his gf. Had to save room for cornbread and those delectable blueberry muffins. <3
