Day 10
I tried to be classy for my internship interview. I tried.
I initially wanted my hair curled and down with dark red lips, but then my modesty caught up with me and I ended up putting my hair in a high pony (mostly because I really suck at curling the hair on the right side of my face so I always end up with asymmetrical curls… ): ) and muting the color of my lips. So much for being risky… but I least I went through with the heels, didn’t opt out for flats!
- Cook something: Raw salmon + alfalfa + thousand island on rice, topped with seaweed flakes and sesame seeds with a kick of chili powder. One of my favorite dishes; it’s so easy to make, always fresh and so flavorful!
- Read something: Falling For You
- Learn something: Learned my potential internship isn’t as sketch as I thought would be… in fact, it looks like a really chill place to work so yayyy, even though it doesn’t pay. It honestly looks like a great place to get experience though since I do plan on doing something like this as a career. Sorry for being so vague, don’t want to jinx it! I’m superstitious like that.
- Watch something: Two & A Half Men
- Walk something: Char! Took him to Susanna Park after dropping my brother at TaeKwonDo and then walked him through PetSmart where we bought him new, healthy dog food.
On that note, it’s really just incredible how terrible name brand (referring to the brands sold in grocery stores/Walmart) dog food is… after my aunt’s dog Duke, whom I grew up with, passed away from the complications caused by his dry food (RIP Duke<3), I started to do some research because I didn’t want Charlie to suffer from a bad diet. To give an example, I read reviews on Beneful, which I used to feed Charlie a few years ago but have thankfully switched from since then. The main ingredients are as follows: Ground Yellow Corn, Chicken By-Product Meal, Corn Gluten Meal, Whole Wheat Flour and Animal Fat. To start with, corn is one of their primary ingredients?! Dogs are, by nature, carnivores so it should be no surprise that corn is extremely hard to digest for dogs. It’s essentially nothing but a filler for real nutrition. Secondly, the meat that is used is chicken by-product (or the parts of the animal that are deemed inappropriate for human consumption). Corn Gluten Meal is a bonding agent to keep dry food together and has no nutritional value, Whole Wheat Flour is a worthless filler and Animal Fat doesn’t specify the animal source. (i.e. it can come from any animal including sick, diseased or dying animals, animals euthanized at shelters or roadkill.) This probably isn’t very interesting to many people, but to the puppy parents who do feed their canine BFFs store brand foods, I highly encourage you to research the food you feed your dogs. Your pet’s health shouldn’t be compromised for cheaper/convenient food. ):
(Sorry for the totally random rant/lecture, it’s just one of those little things that I think is really important and needs more awareness.)
- Take a picture of something: Interview wear/my lunch
- Create something: Lunch? (:
