While I’m in the blogging mood…
Goals of Summer 2011:
- Cook more.
& Get better at it!
On this note, I made spaghetti & turkey meatballs for my fam today! Seeing as my grandma didn’t complain about food for once and my daddy went for seconds, I’d say it was a hit. :P So, yay! On my way! Kinda. (: - Bake more than desserts.
So difficult, especially with seductive dessert blogs such as Bakerella and Joy the Baker. ):
Also, baked dinner rolls to go with the spaghetti today! & Planning on baking berry muffins tomorrow. (: Those totally aren’t desserts btw, they’re pastries! - Dance.
Kind of having a personal dilemma with this because I don’t know which studio to go to… I mean, I would feel the most comfortable going back to my old studio, but then I know that it’s just going to be the same old routines that I did throughout high school. But, if I go to another studio, I feel like a traitor to my old teacher (I know, sounds ridiculous, but it’s a Chinese dance community thing. ”/ ). Well as of now, I guess my dad kind of already pushed me to try a new studio because I will be taking classes at Dance Impressions Productions this Sunday (hip hop with my brother, btw hahaha, should be interesting at the very least…). We’ll see how this goes. (: - Learn HTML/CSS.
Already started doing this, so yay! Brings me back to the good old days when everyone would code their own Xanga layout.
Yes, I had one. & Yes, it was awesome.
Kidding, but really, I kind of have the basics down now, I’m just hoping I won’t get too discouraged and give up once all the intermediate/advanced stuff comes up. - Catch up on reading through my bookshelf.
I’ve recently cleaned out my bookshelves because I honestly had no space left and books just kept piling up which eventually resulted in a bookalanche (clever, huh?). As some of you may know, I’ve been selling just a fraction of those books via facebook (believe me when I say it’s only a fraction…), which has made it increasingly clear to me that I have a problem when it comes to books. I am a book hoarder/addict. I just keep buying and borrowing and collecting and eventually become so overwhelmed with the sheer number of novels in my room that I read none of them. Hence, my recent book cleansing.
Side note: Given my book hoarding nature, I am kind of jealous of the ppl I’m selling my books to, they’re getting such good deals! If I were them, I would’ve bought every single book, just for the satisfaction of getting a good deal… very Asian of me, I know… - Continue my search for a job/internship.
Depressing. If I don’t get anything by mid-June, I think I’ll just give up on the summer internship part. - Advance my Photoshop/InDesign/Illustrator skills.
Seeing as I plan on basing my career in these programs (at least for now), this seems pretty important. Plus, it’ll help me exercise my graphic design muscles over the next 3 months! - Don’t shop.
Kind of goes with the decluttering goal… I have enough, don’t need anymore! Also, my closet is out of hangers. - Declutter.
Already did this with my room, moving on to apply this to the rest of my life… rather uncertain how atm, but I just want to make my life simpler and less complicated than I make it out to be. Aka, I need to change my life perspective. Big goals this summer, big goals.
This seems to be enough to keep me busy ‘til August. Wish me luck. (:
